So you think CC online has been forgotten about huh? well no, actually it's as strong as ever with more people coming up to me asking about the game everyday, well every week or so.

I've been busy doing other Brother sites or sister sites, and they are pretty cool even if i say so myself. One thing is however certain that although my HTML knowledge is better i have definatley gotten fatter, so it will be back on the bike for old Morri this year.

In the meantime you crazy CC fans, check out Goon Adelaide for all your related goon adventures, If you feel like you should be famous for being drunk rather than being a gambler, then thats the site for you.

Coming soon will be the Sideways website, because its a little confusing that CC and sideways are different, its just that they are made by the same person as Goon and Joinacult. Its crazy, but we need world domination and i guess all the bases have to be covered.

How hard it is for me to write and say thanks to everyone you'll never know, but here we go and, in no particular order, Haley's fire dancing, Dirty Darren and the smuggling fireworks Co. ( cheers Canberra) Double Down Benny's Pryrotechnics, Eagle eye Evans for the CFS standby, Jase and Danny For the Sturdiest fucking bar in the world, Jordie's all round pleasure giving, Dj Joe-b-wan for the tunes, Cool hand lukes Raffle and sound engineering ( and for being the highest peak in Australia) , and no, Elizabeth east is not a continent, Everyone who brought food, everyone who brought bottles (and extras) and of course thanks to the folks for providing the venue. Sorry to anyone who i missed, but thank you all.

So anyway that is just about as many photos i can be arsed photo shopping for everyone. I've had enough and i need to sleep, apparently i was falling over allot and stacked it hard when i tried to jump over a pinapple, and for anyone who witnessed me crwling arond on the floor, i assure you it was only for comedy effect. We love getting pics from people starting up thier games all over the place, and it's good to see that the office chrismas version has already been started, these shot sent in by someone from a mobile phone show the true Courtesy Chrismas sprit.

Just have a look at what started at this Christmas Function when Our online Member "Double Down Benny" suggested a Courtesy Cup round after some Chrismas lunch.

Looks Like the game is really catching off in a big way. Hello to everyone there at the Chrismas do, we hope you like the game and go on to spread it around, it bring good and Courteous luck you know.

Very Sideways

Nice to see some cool people at the first Sideways party. Well done to people for looking pretty snazy indeed ... First though as promised i need to especially say thankyou to the Ganja Fairy. People are still telling me today, what a nice surprise it was. You should really consider having a website of your own. Of course we had a few games of CC and it was nice to see a few more people learning our game. The game last was called over when a new player to the game wanted to break a fifty. Love the enthusiasm it generated and as one bystander noted "I've never seen so many people handing over cash , being so polite about it"

A few people asked where they can get a cup from, tday we put some cups in the CC shop section and if people Email us at www.courtesycup.gmail.com and tell us their details we'll try and send you one out.

Looks like a few Romans managed to keep themselves from going too mad especially since Jesus the son of God was there all night. We didn't hear the words 'Et Tu Brute.." at any stage, so we can assume Caeser managed, after all , to not get stabbed in the back.

Also if a train station is reported missing this week it may be because a the sideways fire needed to continue. Special thanks to Jarra hardwood for keeping the party going.

...Evidence of Martian Cup?

Shockwaves hit the scientific community today as Nasa releases new photos from the Beagle 2 Mars probe. Scientists belive they have possibly uncovered evidence of life on the red planet. This news comes as the Beagle 2 last week probed a formerly undedected crater field know as V2. The shocking and unbelivable claims are that the Beagle 2 has found the craters to be "purposefully constructed" according to Professor Riggerson from The University of Tampa Bay , Florida.

"It seems that somewhere in the area of last tuesday evening , the Beagle stumbled into a new crater site accros the ancient highlands. [v2] We know from our research that this may have been purposefully constructed for perhaps even some kind of game or ritual,... it's well, its uncanny, the maths just seems to add up" Prof. Riggerson: University of Florida

Nasa has explained this scientific anomily to a packed press conference last night a an meeting
set up for online journalists.

Right; Nasa images sent back by beagle last week show the craters that Proffersor Riggerson has been studying vigoursly for four days..

Nasa seemed less excited as other scientific bodies and seemed to play down the disovery. A former statement from Nasa could not be obtained. Proffersor Riggerson however provided this explanation of the photo , right.

"It seems more than evident, studying both CC and craters for years that these two are linked by some sort of greatness, perhaps it is evidence that a game so great can be thought of by all planets and many cutures in the universe, it is a very important discovery" Prof.Riggerson

Sideways Summer set to go off

CC is proud to announce its partnership in the Sideways Summer festival in December at Claire and Greer's, and when we say "set to go off", we mean it!

This festival marks the start of summer and also welcomes back Josie for her new whirlwind tour of Australia. Weather analisers assure us global warming is ready to heat adelaide up by one extra degree this year so we at CC reckon this party will be hot !

Holy Crap! i'll be there! come and have a beer or two with me, i'm famous nearly!( Ed.) Come and meet the CC staff, fans and organisers at this wonderful event at Claires and Greers this december.

CCC to charge man over alleged performance enhancement.

The CCC (Courtesy Cup Court) is looking into allegations of a club player from the western suburbs allegedly having used performance enhancing drugs during a world cup qualifier. Ryan Kyle a two time state represenative, and more ironically the poster boy for the anti-drugs awaness campaign in Elisabeth, was favoured to lead Australia in next years world cup in Canada.

Kyle 24, tested positive to 'ADMFFU' (Asidsulamafferuitid) not a banned substance yet in Australia but the CCC is holding strong on its policy that "All players must be clean from any drug that is known to be abbriviated'' (CCC book of internal admin,1982 section 21:a)

ADMffu is know to stay in the blood stream for up to six months, Kyle will be tested again a week before the march '06 world cup in Canada. If that test proves to be positive the 24 year old will be dropped from the side and worse still, may face charges, putting Curtis Bianco from 'Morraabin Rollies' in sure footing to lead Australia Next year.

Atari announces remake of classic game

Some of the keen players out there will no doubt remember The 90's classic CC by Atari gaming systems. Most of us can remember kicking back eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches and drinking Milo after racing home to get another hour in on the fabulous 90's classic cup game.

NOW Atari have Announced a special edition re-release of the original game combined with their new game in which they have teamed up with Sony to deliver a remarkable edition to the CC range of action packed games.

Most of you will still remember how exciting it was when this game came out back then, the makers of the new game have assured us at CC.com that the original magic of the original has not been lost in the remaking of the current edition.

Tim Mctimson from Tengens explains;

'"We all no doubt remember sitting there all night glued to the moniter trying to get past the next level. One of the best points of the original game was there was nearly ten thousand levels, most people gave up after about 450 levels or so, its nice as a software engineer to create something that essientialy no-one has time for, i think."

Right; The infamous level 450, most people according to Tim, gave up here but we assure you it has been clocked many times by many fans.

Dick Salad a former shoe salesmen turned hacker and sound engineer tells us he has clocked it seven times, the first time though, in front of 50,000 people at an annual software engineers and gamers convention.

"it was crazy it was a while ago but i remember being there and just thinking wow, this game goes for ever, i mean i didnt really think i would go on to do it, but it was the only time people have actually spoken to me so i think it was good in those ways,.. people usually dont speak to me and i dont have any friends so,.. its like, you know, the only way i dont sort of feel horrible, sort of an escape thing i think"

Vietnam- courtesy cat shame.

Sadly it has come to our attention that a horrifying variation on the game has come about in Vietnam. Called 'Courtesy Cat', players use live kittens or adult cats instead of coins.

we talked to Sarah, a vet and animal protecter in South East Asia.

"its just terrible what they do to these animals, let me be clear, its only a small percentage of people who are doing this. We have known about it for some time, but its hard to control out there, these people just dont have the money to play and resort to using animals" Sarah M-R.S.P.C.A -Vietnam

Sarah tells us that although the cats are not injured, many kittens are traumatised, and later as adults may turn to boose or even prostitution.

Gary tells us that his local has embraced the truly international game as one of thier theme nights. Gary assures us the 'Aussie rules' are kept to but says that its not easy to find the right cup

The rules as invented by Old Man Morri , are the international rules. Even though the game originated in Australia there are no official Aussie rules. One adaptation that is accepted in the "ten golden rules" is the semicircle version against a wall, this still however is not strictly a different style.

The Legend Of Old Man Morri

The Man behind the man behind the myth....

This Photo was Taken Back in 1901 in Strathalbyn , Adelaide. This photo is one of only six surviving pictures of him that were saved from the great fire of Sailsbury, in 1911.This shows Old Man Morri at work on his farm circa 1890's. Some historians belive that this was the actual photo taken on the day that Old Man Morri invented Courtesy Cup.

Most people dont know that Old Man Morri was quite famous for being well known. He was born in a small shed about 25km west of a town called Benshed. He worked most of his life as a sheep farmer but spent allot of time involved in local commnity fund raising ventures. Probably his most famous fund raiser was when old man Morri walked across lake Alexandrena with cork boards attached to his shoes to raise money for orphaned children.

The Rules of Courtesy Cup

The rules are simple, A regulation CC online cup (as above) is identified as being the 'Courtesy Cup', all players battle for other contestants coins. all players must be courteous and must obide by the rules.

The Aim of the Game
Players take turns throwing coins at a cup placed in a circle. Money ( usually 20cents) is collected by the last winner and placed into the cup by all players, this is refered to as the kitty. coins are thrown at the cup in any order and at the end of the round the person whos coin lands closest to the cup is deemed the winner and wins all the coins in and out of the circle on the floor, should a coin bounce in the cup , or land in on the full, the winner collects all the money on the floor and all the kitty in the cup. The winner then goes around the circle and collects another coin from everyone to put back into the cup to form the next kitty.

Setting up, the three basic rules.

1, the cup is placed in the middle of a circle. the circle must be one arm length in radius as according to the old man Morri sheep trials of 1891. This circle may be drawn in chalk or made with a piece of rope.

2, Players must sit in a chair at equdistant length from the cup in a circle. Note; in some occasions this may be adapted to a semicircle against a wall.

3, Draw a smaller circle, about the size of a plate, around the cup, this helps to decide who landed closest to the cup.

Now the set up is complete, these are the ten golden rules.

1, First and foremost all players must be courteous. this applies to having a shot out of turn, loud or indecent behavoiur, swearing, not paying attention, or anything that prevents proper and fun "flow" during any one round of Courtesy Cup.

2, Players may not play a stroke or flip past the knee. if they cannot achive this it may be nessesary to move back thier chair. Over arm throws are not permitted and if the cup gets knocked over, the game is void, all coins are returned to players and the game reset.

3, Players must throw in a courteous manner, for example on a single coin round there is no set order of play, people must be polite enough to let others go in any order they like, but two players must not throw at the same time.

4, Only the winner of the round may get up to collect money for the new kitty. anyone getting up out of turn may be deemed uncourteous. The winner then decides the amount thrown on the next round.

5, If at any stage a player's coin lands in the cup and knocks out another coin, this coin is considered to be the players coin, and remains in play.

6, In the event of all coins landing outside of the circle, the coin closest to the circle wins.

7, In any one round a player may call the word Pressureshot, meaning that player reserves the last shot to him or herself, a player may not call pressue shot twice in a row. Pressure shot cannot be called in a double coin round.

8, If two Coins land in the cup then the pot is split down the middle between both players. On a double coin throw, 2 coins landing in the cup beats 1 coin in the cup.

9, Players are expected to change chairs often enough so that a player may not feel that thier position in the field of play is worst than the rest. This is considered courteous.

10, any coin throw is permitted, as long as the last winner calls it so. The only double coin throw allowed is the double 10's and the double 20's. in the event of a double coin throw , the closest out of the two coins may be counted as the winner. However a double coin throwing round must be played in order from either left or right of the last winner, therefore pressure shot cannot be called.

All money won on the night is for keeps and the hour of finishing is to be determined at the begining of play

F A Q's

what happens if the cup gets knocked over by a coin during the game?
When this happens the whole game is void. everyone gets thier coins back and the game is restarted. for this reason it is not courteous to throw over arm or deliberatly try to void the game.

What if we cant decide who won?
In the event of a coin proximity decrepency only the players who are not envolved in the dispute are alowed to walk into the arena to judge whos coin is closest to the Cup. If a clear winner can not be identified by the other players then it is permited to split the pot.

What if someone calls a Dollar coin round and i don't have enough to play?
It is not courteous to 'bump' people out, therefore keeping people in and playing a round within the financial means of the other players is the right thing to do.

Old Man Morri: The Founder Of Courtesy Cup

Most of you new to the the game of Courtesy Cup may not know how the founder of the fabulous game came up with such and exciting relevant game.

Born in 1878 in a small town in Australia, old man morri invented the game to settle land disputes between rivalling sheep stations over property.

Originally the game consisted of 44 gallon drums and the property, mainly sheep, involved in the dispute.

Players would toss the sheep using both hands, and the person to get thier sheep closest to the drum would win all the sheep on the playing field, thus Courtesy Cup was born.
